What we are

Diné Bi Chidi is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established to provide assistance by gifting free vehicles to deserving individuals. We understand firsthand the struggles our community faces, and we know that overcoming the cycle of poverty is nearly impossible without outside intervention.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote community development in Navajo Nation by providing essential resources and empowering individuals to be more self-sufficient, to develop personally and professionally, and to take control of their own futures.

Our Shared Story

Community built on
trust and dignity

Our founder, Liz Clawson, grew up on the Navajo Nation, where many of her family's challenges arose from not having a reliable vehicle. Without a car, they struggled to haul water, wood, and buy food or other necessities — and often spent a lot of time hitchhiking.

“As I drive across the reservation today, I notice numerous capable individuals who lack the resources and opportunities to improve their quality of life. I see families facing hardships every single day. I encounter brilliant people who desperately want to become self-sufficient, but they find themselves just out of reach, trapped in the relentless cycle of poverty. A reliable vehicle is essential for creating a sustainable livelihood.”
